Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

½ cup butter, melted

1 cup milk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup white sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups fresh strawberry halves

1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into small pieces

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Pour melted butter into the bottom of a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.

Mix milk, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a small bowl; pour over butter in the baking dish. Arrange strawberry halves in a layer in the baking dish. Dot strawberries with cream cheese pieces.

Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling, 30 to 45 minutes.

Recipe Tip

If you use self-rising flour instead of all-purpose, omit the baking powder and salt.
