6 ounces fresh tomatillos – husked, rinsed, and halved
1 large ripe avocado – halved, seeded, and flesh scooped out of the peel
¼ cup packed cilantro leaves
½ lime, juiced
1 tablespoon thinly sliced serrano chile pepper, or to taste
salt to taste
Directions
Place tomatillos into a food processor. Add avocado, cilantro, lime juice, serrano pepper, and salt. Process until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning, then transfer to a serving bowl.
Recipe Tip
If you can't find fresh tomatillos, you can use canned tomatillos. Wear gloves to handle the serrano pepper.
