Eggless Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding

Prep time: 10 minutes + preheating

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients
8 slices bread
½ cup chocolate chips (divided usage)
Butter for greasing

For the pudding mixture:
1 cup hot milk
2 tbsp custard powder
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp cinnamon powder

Make Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C. Grease an 8-inch baking tray with butter.
  • Cut the bread slices into quarters, and place them in the greased baking tray, making sure they are densely packed in. Add quarter cup chocolate chips, pushing them into the small gaps.
  • Mix together the pudding mixture and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Drizzle over the bread in the baking tray.
  • Top with the remaining chocolate chips.
  • Bake in the preheated oven at 180° C for 30 minutes with both the top and bottom heat on.
  • Remove from the oven and serve hot.
  • Tip: Serve this chocolate chip bread pudding hot with vanilla ice cream. You can substitute the milk with any nut milk, and the sugar with one-fourth cup honey or five tablespoons jaggery.
