1 cup soy sauce
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons mesquite flavored liquid smoke concentrate
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ground paprika
¼ teaspoon salt
1 pound beef eye of round sliced into 1/4 inch strips
Directions
Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, garlic, paprika, and salt in a shallow glass baking dish. Lay beef strips in soy sauce mixture in a single layer. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
Arrange beef strips in a dehydrator and let dry to desired doneness, about 6 hours.
Tips
You can use hickory-smoked flavoring instead if you'd like.
