Slow Cooker Steel-Cut Oats Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups water

1 cup milk

1 cup steel-cut oats

1 medium apple – peeled, cored, and chopped

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 ½ tablespoons butter, cut into 6 pieces (Optional)

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

Directions

Combine water, milk, oats, apple, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt in a slow cooker; mix well.

Cook on Low for 1 hour. Reduce heat to Simmer or Warm and cook for 7 to 8 more hours.

Tips

You can substitute maple syrup or other desired sweetener for brown sugar.
