½ cup unpopped popcorn
¼ cup vegetable oil
⅓ cup white sugar, or to taste
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Directions
Heat a popcorn kettle or pot over medium heat. Add popcorn, oil, sugar, and cocoa powder to the kettle. Cook, turning the handle slowly, until popping slows to 3 seconds between pops.
Cook's Note:
You can use a Dutch oven instead of a popcorn kettle if preferred. Make sure to shake the Dutch oven constantly while the popcorn pops.
